Locally produced, national home improvement TV show accepting nominations for South Florida military, veterans, and their families’ to remodel their homes on Lifetime Television

Designing Spaces (http://www.mylifetime.com/shows/designing-spaces), a national home improvement TV show produced by O2 Media on Lifetime Television, is now accepting nominations for South Florida military, veterans and their families who’d like their homes renovated on an upcoming episode, titled “Military Makeover.” Part of the show’s ‘Designing Spaces of Hope’ series, the Designing Spaces Dream Team will revamp spaces at South Florida military and veterans’ homes that are near and dear to their hearts. Following Designing Spaces’ recent renovation of The Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital in Hollywood, Fla., the show will now take viewers into different South Florida homes of military members and their families. The Designing Spaces Dream Team will work hand-in-hand with brand partners and the military families to help them rebuild, remodel or retrofit a space in their home while building new memories together.

Durofix, a leading international power tool manufacturer, is one brand partner that’s teaming up with Designing Spaces to give one lucky veteran the mechanic garage of their dreams. Designing Spaces’ experts are overseeing the garage’s rebuild while Durofix will supply all the tools, valued at more than $2500. The renovated garage will be equipped from soup to lug nuts with an arsenal of auto tools that’d put Richard Petty’s pit crew to shame.

“Our troops make enormous sacrifices; sometimes the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. Improving their quality of life at home is perhaps the most rewarding, honorary effort we can put forth to say thank you for serving our country,” Lysa Liemer, executive vice president of programming and chief operating officer at Designing Spaces, states. “That’s what the Military Makeover episode will be all about. We’re seeking South Florida military, veterans, caregivers, and the families of those who are or have served in the military, to feature them and the remodeling of their home on national television.“

Designing Spaces is seeking soldiers coming home for the first time, families who currently have loved ones serving, veterans who’ve served before, and veterans with disabilities from serving. Guest homes will be selected for Designing Spaces’ Military Makeover episode from those nominated for the show. Viewers can nominate families by completing the Military Makeover nomination form on Designing Spaces’ website at http://designingspaces.tv/veterans/.
